    Dr Marcus Johnstone

    Veterinary Surgeon/Branch Partner

    BVM&S MRCVS

    After graduating with distinction from Edinburgh University in 1994 Marcus won a BVA scholarship to visit the Middle East to do a study on diseases of the indigenous livestock of Oman. Upon his return, Marcus joined Charter Vets. After an enjoyable 3 years, the travel bug hit again and Marcus ventured overseas through South East Asia to work and travel in Australia and New Zealand. Marcus rejoined the practice in 1999 and took over the running of the Biddulph Surgery from his former colleague and mentor John Clewlow. Marcus is particularly interested in small animal medicine and orthopaedics. At home, Marcus’s menagerie included fish, a tortoise, guinea pigs and a mischevious cat.

    Graduated 2012 in Zagreb Croatia. Worked in Croatia, then Ireland, then the UK, then Ireland again and now back at Charter again.

    I have 2 cats Tripod and Flora and a whippet Pluto.

    I like long walks on a sunny beach and other similar stuff that young people love....

    Sam moved to Charter in May 2021 after working as a Veterinary Nurse in Surrey for 30 years. When Sam is not working, she enjoys going for walks around Cheshire and Staffordshire with her two rescue Springer Spaniels, Hazel and Danger Mouse and spending time with her friends and family. Sam also has 2 elderly cats called Helix and Ludo.

    Gemma has worked at Charter Vets since 2003 as part of the nursing team.Gemma began as a trainee at our Congleton Branch, then transferred to Biddulph where she completed her training and became head nurse. Gemma enjoys all aspects of her job, but particularly enjoys anaesthesia and inpatient care. At home, Gemma owns a horse called Ricky, a Frenchie called Reggie and a Lhasa Apso called Lottie.

    Jenni started working for Charters as a qualified nurse in 2007 until 2015. After working elsewhere, Jenni returned as a locum nurse and has never left!

    During her spare time, Jenni enjoys walking her two Labradors (Trini and Bago) and travelling around in her campervan. She also has a lovely Ginger and White cat called Bugsy, who was rescued from Charter Vets.

    Charlotte started with Charter in 2017, following her graduation, when she was awarded a distinction in Veterinary Care. Charlotte enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but has a passion for end-of-life care and geriatric patients.

    Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys country pursuits and family life with her husband and two daughters. At home she has a very crazy and loveable Border Terrier Wilf, a tiny but mighty dachshund Bertie, and a rescue cat, rabbit, and guinea pig.

    Stephanie joined the reception team in June 2021. She has previously worked in other animal settings, and has a degree in Animal Behaviour.

    Stephanie’s favourite animals are primates. Outside of work she is kept busy with her 2 year old son and her 7 year old Mastiff.

    Gemma has been part of the reception team since since 2020, although she has been a Veterinary Receptionist since 2006.

    Gemma has recently achieved her British Veterinary Association Silver award.

    Outside of work Gemma enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

    Pat joined the team at Biddulph in 2006 as a volunteer as she loves to be around animals. At home, Pat has 2 dogs, 2 cats and a hedgehog.
